City I call home: Where ever I live or where ever I travel, my home is in San Anselmo, California.

Area of cinema I am most passionate about: Classical Hollywood.

A film that changed me/my mind: Kenji Mizoguchi's The Water Magician (1933), projected on film and accompanied with a benshi narrator, because it made "silent" cinema come to life.

MIFF film I’m most looking forward to: Jerzy Skolimowski's Le départ.

I’m looking forward to Critics Campus because: Today's young critics will shape tomorrow's cinema culture.

Cinema excites me because: It is a terribly beautiful, erring interpreter of the world.
